Supporting Wilmington Memorial Library

Giving Back. Supporting Wilmington Memorial Library's Summer Reading Program.

BOSTON, MA – February 19, 2025 – At Kirkwood, we believe in giving back to our community, and this summer we had the privilege of partnering with the Wilmington Memorial Library to support their Summer Reading Program. Established in 1871, the library has been a cornerstone of the Wilmington community for over 150 years, fostering a love of reading and learning for generations.

Led by the dedicated Library Director, Kate Lynn Coraccio and Marketing Librarian, Mary Nicholson, the Summer Reading Program helps 600 local children engage in educational activities during the summer. Studies show that kids can lose up to two months of reading skills if they don’t stay engaged with learning during this time, which can significantly impact their academic success. That’s why programs like this are so important.

Wilmington Library Staff

Kirkwood's support for the Wilmington Memorial Library was multifaceted. We provided fun, custom-designed T-shirts for the staff and produced a 20-page Summer Reading "Zine" for all library patrons. These projects are just one example of how we work with organizations to bring their visions to life. Whether it's creating high-quality marketing collateral, crafting engaging direct mail campaigns, or delivering branded promotional products, we offer a wide range of print services tailored to meet the unique needs of each client. Our goal is to deliver innovative solutions that leave a lasting impression, just as we’ve done for the Wilmington Memorial Library.

We’re proud to contribute to the library’s efforts as they continue to redesign and enhance their patrons’ experience. In addition to the support from volunteers known as the “Friends of the Library,” the Wilmington Memorial Library was awarded a grant from the Cummings Foundation in 2022, aimed at revitalizing the first floor of this historic institution.

We’re honored to be a part of this ongoing story and look forward to more opportunities to support the incredible work happening at the Wilmington Memorial Library.
